My paintings are environments that I have observed throughout my lifetime of travels throughout Northern California: abandoned mining towns, farms, industrial sites, rural communities in the midst of hard times, and sometimes simply expansive landscapes.

The loneliness of these paintings has led me to invite other entities to inhabit these environments; I find them online, in magazines, within family photo collections, etc. Sometimes these entities express a clear desire to reside in one particular painting, or sometimes they just stumble in unknowingly.

Ultimately my paintings are living experiments where haunted or forgotten spaces are ultimately transformed into worlds where lost and abandoned souls find themselves in a place they can call home.
